What We Do
Ripple Strategies can help with each aspect of a successful media campaign, from developing strategic messages to writing effective press materials to organizing newsworthy events. Following is a list of our services.
Project Management
We manage each media campaign from start to finish so that you don't have to. This means making sure each element is done carefully and on time. We communicate with our clients regularly throughout the process to make sure we are always in accord.
Develop Newsworthy Messages
In an ideal world, how do you want your story to read? We help develop compelling messages that support the overall project objectives. We work to synthesize these messages so that they are clear, concise, and ones reporters will be interested in covering.
Identify and Train Spokespeople
We help determine who the optimal spokespeople are for your project based on expertise, personal experience and the ability to speak articulately and passionately about an issue. Then we make sure these spokespeople are properly trained in how to answer tough questions and stay on message.
Write and Edit Press Materials
We write and edit concise and compelling materials to help reporters write their stories. These include media advisories, press releases, fact-sheets, spokesperson bios, website text and other background materials. We also create and collate press kits for live events.
Write, Edit and Place Op-Eds
An Op-Ed can be a highly effective way to amplify a media campaign. We will ghost-write, edit and/or place op-eds by selecting a strategic author, message and media outlet. This is an excellent way to have a story published without the bias of a reporter interfering with the message. Following are examples of op-eds that we have placed.

Conduct Media Trainings
We offer one-hour, half-day or full-day trainings to teach you how to develop newsworthy messages, write press materials and pitch reporters. We also train spokespeople on interviewing skills including how to stay on message and avoid being misquoted.
Create Targeted Press Lists
A media campaign is only as good as its press lists. Using our extensive, state-of-the-art database we compile a targeted list of reporters specifically for your campaign. In an instant we can email or blast-fax a press release to this list.
Pitch Reporters
Calling reporters is a crucial element of any successful media campaign. We use our targeted press lists and honed messages to pitch the press on story ideas. We try different "hooks" until we find one that works. Over the years we have developed trusted relationships with many reporters that accelerates this process.
Organize and Execute Press Conferences and Other Media Events
Oftentimes we will organize and publicize press conferences, teleconferences or other media events to launch a campaign. We will work with you to determine which type of event would be most effective, and manage all of the logistics and outreach.
Advertising
A "free media" campaign can be amplified with paid advertising. We will help you determine whether or not this makes sense for your project depending on budget and target audience. If you decide to pursue paid advertising we will work with a designer to develop concepts, write the copy, and manage the production process.
Partner with Web, Design and Database Experts
We work closely with experts in website development, database creation and online fundraising. Should your campaign require any of these technical skills we can help build and manage the appropriate team.
