Guide to Greener Electronics
Ripple worked with Greenpeace to release their new Guide to Greener Electronics, which ranked 17 of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies on their use of renewable energy, recycled materials; and elimination of hazardous chemicals. (Samsung trailed way behind Apple, in case you were wondering; and the average overall grade was a D+, indicating a long way to go toward sustainable IT.) We helped with strategic messaging, press materials, info-graphics, created a targeted media list and pitched reporters. Over 40 major international news outlets covered this important report including: the New York Times, Washington Post, ABC, CBS, Fox Business, Financial Times, Korean Times, Business Insider, MacRumors, Apple Insider, 9to5 Mac, Computer World, ZDNet, Clean Technica, Engadget, TreeHugger, TriplePundit, GreenBiz and more. Greenpeace is challenging the IT sector to take responsibility for its rapidly increasing footprint on the planet by: Shifting their supply chains to be renewably powered; Designing long-lasting products that use more recycled materials; and Finding alternatives to hazardous chemicals.
