Modern Language Association
We were hired by the Modern Language Association to release the first online interactive language map of the United States. The MLA Language Map allows users to do a quick search of how many people speak languages in addition to English in any state, county or zip code in the nation. In order to make the story appealing to a broad audience, we created distinct press releases for key cities that were priorities for the MLA, highlighting local information found on the map. These cities included New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Philadelphia. We wrote a press release in Spanish and conducted special outreach to the Spanish press. The results were staggering. Hundreds of outlets ran the story including the Chicago Tribune, New York Times and a FRONT PAGE article in the Los Angeles Times.
